1.Hirer agrees that upon booking a vehicle a hold will be placed on their credit/debit card for the full amount of the rental period plus coverage, additional options and deposits. Payment will be settled when the vehicle is returned, at this point deposits will be refunded if no additional charges are incurred.
2.Hirer agrees to pay a 10% cancelation fee if booking is canceled within 24hrs of pickup/delivery.
3.Vehilcles are rented on a Daily Basis, one day is 24hrs. There is a 4hr grace period upon return, if a vehicle is returned after this Grace period the hirer agrees to pay for an additional day.
4.The hirer agrees to return the rented vehicle on the return date and time specified. Failure to return the vehicle within 24hrs of the return date, or verbal demand by JMJ Car Rental Limited, the hirer will unlawfully have possession of the vehicle. This will be reported to the police and may result in the issuance of arrest of the hirer or anyone who has possession of the rented vehicle.
5.Smoking is not permitted in our vehicles. The hirer agrees to pay a $100US cleaning fee to remove smoke or ash odors.
6.A deposit for a full tank of gas is taken at booking. Simply return the rented vehicle at the fuel level at which it was delivered for a full refund. Vehicles returned with less fuel will be charged at a rate higher than the retail pump price as we include a service fee. No compensation will be given if fuel level is returned above what it was delivered at.
7.JMJ Car Rental Limited provides third party insurance coverage only. The hirer is responsible for full damage or loss to the rented vehicle, including wheels (Rims, Hubcaps & Tires), whether or not he/she is at fault. Liability maybe limited by accepting any of the following options:
- Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)- This limits liability to 10% of the vehicles value.
- Tire and Windshield Protection (TWP)- This waives liability in the event of damage to the vehicle tires and windshield.
- Full Damage Waiver FDW- This relieves financial responsibility for the vehicle in the event of loss or damage to the rental car or theft (any single event). Wheels (Tires, Rims, Hubcaps) not included.
Any breach of the terms and conditions makes the hirer liable for full damage or loss even if waivers are accepted. Waivers are not refundable.
The following are not covered if the vehicle is returned with loss/damage to these interior items and there is no evidence or report of a break-in:
- Mats
- Radio/CD/Tape
- Speakers
- Tools
- Spare Tires
- Vents
- Upholstery, Carpets & other Fabric coverings
- Lost keys
- Damage to undercarriage or engine as a result of negligent operation of the vehicle
8.Only persons listed on this agreement or otherwise authorized by law, between the ages of twenty three (23) and sixty five (65), with a valid driver’s license not less than 2 years old, may operate the rented vehicle. Persons that are hearing-impaired are not allowed to drive our vehicles as our insurers currently do not provide coverage.
9.Rented Vehicle is not to be used:
- To transport people or property for compensation.
- To carry hazardous or explosive substances.
- In any race, speed tests, training, contest or for any illegal purposes.
- In any abusive, reckless or unlawful manner.
- To propel, push or tow any vehicle or trailer.
- For any off road use.
10.The hirer must pay any parking or traffic ticket issued during this rental, plus all cost incurred by JMJ Car Rental Limited if tickets are not paid when they are due.
11.In the event of an accident or theft the hirer must contact JMJ Car Rental Limited immediately, report the incident to the police within 24hrs and provide a signed written statement of the incident. The hirer agrees to cooperate with JMJ Car Rental Limited and it’s insurers during investigation of the incident.
12.The hirer agrees JMJ Car Rental Limited is not responsible for theft of property stored or transported in the rented vehicle.
13.The hirer agrees that JMJ Car Rental Limited is not liable for property damage, bodily harm or death resulting from the use or operation of the rented vehicle, to themselves or the occupants of the rented vehicle.
